Summer 2023 Fancy Food Upcycled Pizza and Ice Cream Social

The Upcycled Food Association, The Spare Food Co., and Rodeo CPG joined forces to highlight the transformative impact of upcycling in the food industry. Our event showcased a specially crafted upcycled menu, featuring Fornino's wood-fired pizza and ice cream. It was a fantastic evening, celebrating a future free from wasted food and marking the kickoff to the summer season!

The Spare Food team dedicated their morning volunteering with Grassroots Grocery, a New York nonprofit committed to fighting for dignified food access for all. We meticulously sorted through trucks brimming with rescued produce, packed our vehicles, and delivered the nourishing food to community partners across New York City.

No Food Left Behind Dinner At Farm To People

A collaboration between Chefs Adam Kaye (Spare Food) and Matt Yee (Farm to People) in the warm and welcoming Farm to People Kitchen and Bar space in Brooklyn, this first-of-its-kind event featured a multi-course family-style menu that incorporates both the best of and “the rest of” produce and products from local partners and purveyors.

NYC’s community fridge initiative helps bring food to those facing food insecurity. Spare Food took to the streets of Harlem and The Bronx to fill these refrigerators with Spare Tonic - meeting their notion of ‘take what you need’ with ours of ‘Spare what you can’.
